12/5 - This band is called John Wayne Bro. Seriously. It’s one of their dad’s names I hear. (at Central SAPC)
My name is t.j. and I'm on an odyssey. Come with me.
9/24 - Orange Julius playing ‘Sleepwalk’. Best surf rock band I’ve ever seen. (Taken with Instagram at Silverlake Lounge)
The journey/escape is afoot once again. Sitting in the Grand Island airport about to board a tiny jet for Dallas and on to London.
Picked up my new glasses today. First new pair in something like 10 years. They’re even shaved down a bit but their still coke bottles.
I don’t know if I’ve ever been so nervous for an adventure. I’ve kind of shut down for the last month or so to avoid freaking out. There is no roadmap for this lifestyle. One day my heart will explode. There are much worse ways to go.
7/19 - We played an acoustic show for owner Chris Reese (former drummer of Social Distortion) at Pike Restaurant & Bar in Long Beach. That guy sure knows hospitality! He hooked us up FAT with Fish & Chips and PBR on tap all night.
7/18 - Our amazing friends Eastern Conference Champions @ Bardot - Hollywood, CA
7/12 - My guitar rig @ Downtown Rehearsal - Downtown Los Angeles
Rehearsing for upcoming gigs with KAV.
‘99 Gibson SG Special (Haven’t seen another laquered natural finish SG like this)
Ltd Ed Tan/Oxblood Fender DeVille 4x10” 60w
Not-Shown: Boss GE-7 EQ, TU-2 Stage Tuner, AC-2 Acoustic Simulator
Night of Day 4 - My Newcastle Manwich Trev and I reunite in front of The Viper Room. Of course I end up at my 2nd home (3rd home now after my van Elizabeth Taylor?) mere hours after arriving in WeHo. Actually this journey was hurried up because me mates in Viva City (UK) were playing this gig. Ryan and I were planning on seeing The Salton Sea and it’s beaches made of fishbones; but instead The Sunset Strip holds a stronger magnet.
I will always pick cities over nature. I’m a rocker, not a hippie.
